Artist Statement
This piece was inspired by the quiet bond between two very different animals that help each other thrive. As cows graze and move through the grass, they stir up insects for egrets to eat, while the egrets help by picking off flies, ticks, and pests around the cows. Witnessing this around my town is a small reminder of neighborly kindness and that we're all in this together and we all thrive when we help each other. Something that everyone should hope to find. That feeling to me, feels like home.
