Golden Girl: Original Painting

Paper | 8.5" x 11", Matted to 11" x 14"

Golden Girl is an original 8.5 x 11 painting created with acrylic and oil pastel on paper. Inspired by golden Texas sunrises and the warmth of fall, this piece features a speckled hen against a glowing sky, autumn leaves, and open fields. Rich layers of color and expressive marks capture her personality and the beauty of a quiet country morning.

Artist Statement
This piece brings together a few things that make me smile: chickens with their curious personalities, the colors of fall, and the golden light of a Texas sunrise.

There is something comforting about a morning that begins slowly.

Golden Girl celebrates that feeling—the warmth of sunlight spilling across a field, familiar rhythms, and the charm of an ordinary moment. With her proud stance and patterned feathers, this little hen brings a bit of joy to the scene and invites us to find beauty in the everyday.
