Artist Statement
This piece was inspired by that brief stretch of time when the day begins to soften and the light changes everything around it.

There is something about the end of the day that makes you notice more — the warmth in the sky, the quiet in the landscape, and the feeling that a moment is passing even as you are standing inside it.

Before the Light Fades is about appreciating what is here while it is here. It is a reminder to notice the beauty of a season before it changes and to hold onto the small moments that can be easy to miss.
